Something to think about:
Pain can lift you up into a whole new dimension of sight and
understanding.
It is a humbling and simplifying experience. It reduces a human
to a place that they must rely on other human beings to
accomplish the smallest things in order for you for the one incapacitated to survive and
thrive. Therefore you begin to look at yourself and others in a
whole new way.
Suddenly it is so apparent how important we are, one to
another:
“If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the
body; is it therefore not of the body? And if the ear shall say, Because I am
not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? If the whole body were an eye, where were the
hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling? But now hath God
set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him. And if
they were all one member, where were the body? But now are they many members, yet but one
body.”
Hence two is one, but one alone is none. Yes, it is apparent as every good soldier knows, we need one another. So let us bind together. A "Band of Brothers," knit together by pain and discomfort. Let us also be grateful for those caregivers, given unto us.

That is where the understanding of suffering comes from....when we go through a lot of pain we do see and feel for our fellowman....humbling write.
