The Journey

The journey started soft and sweet, memories are unique. Warmth, safety, powder smells, caressing touches upon the head, the softness of a cheek.

Time passes, toddler falls, and life begins its change, moving toward its destiny, it will never be the same. For what began as a lifelong day, suddenly turns to weeks.

For little boys it's cap gun toys, broomstick horses, imagination reigns. Summers last forever on the Oklahoma plains.

Then come those years of uncertainty. Decisions seem so unsound, limited resources, yet unshakable faith that life's promises abound.

But time moves on, wisdom gained, things have moved so fast. Life is like a four lane highway that ribbons from the past. Leading to an unknown end, not knowing how long it lasts.

Seasons have changed the years moved on, crevasses engraved upon the face. Eyes weary, yet a young
hearts’ soul, silver crowns the head of knowledge.

Soon time will fade the eyes will close, in deaths cold deep sleep.
The journey hasn’t ended yet, in fact it’s just begun. A life waits
beyond the veil, A life of endless peace.
