The Gunfighter

It was Gods good pleasure to bring you forth. Though in a world of trouble and strife. How can we doubt He will see us through, after all it was he who gave life. Time and circumstance will leave it's trace. But that can be erased. If we walk in the trail that the Creator laid; and strive to walk at His pace. Follow peace with all men, so the Good Book says.  That means ne'er a fist or gun. That your days in the earth be long and glad, living with all men, ole son. But at a very young age, you learned to gauge, the power that a 44 Colt could bring. So you worked and practiced from a very young age, to learn how to vent your rage. Now you ride alone the trail, between heaven and hell, never knowing where the end will come. Your older and your wiser now and back in Taos you have a son. Not this life for him you declare, for you have lived the lonely life. Your greatest desire, is a long lazy fire, lived with your boy and wife. But there has been too much killing and death in your past. So lean into the wind and ride on. And dream of your tomorrows; a time when you may go home. -
