The world is full of losers. But it also has its share of winners. Which are you? There is an old saying "Winners never lose, but losers never win." What is the difference? The difference is "perseverance." A winner doesn't throw up his hands in despair. A winner doesn't complain. A winner doesn't quit. A winner basically keeps on plugging away, his eye on the finish line. Till eventually, the task is complete.
I have a friend whose son-in-law competes in Triathlon's. recently he came to our area to compete. He had been training all year long for the events. When asked about his desire about placement in the race, his reply was, "I just want to finish." His goal wasn't to win. Though I am sure that would have been a momentous moment. He just wanted to finish, what he had started. To finish, in his eyes, was to be a winner.
There are so many people who start things in life, but never finish. Too many people don't understand, you don't have to win every time. As long as you finish. I once had it in mind to write a novel. But I never started. Why? I questioned my ability to get it finished. I questioned my ability to complete such a daunting task. So I forfeited my chance. I was not sure of my desire to peck away at the keyboard for the length of time and effort it would take to complete the job.
Of course, it's never to late to start. I could start today. In my case however, I can pen a simple post concerning the things I observe, or feel. But do I have the necessary skills and capacity to write a whole book? I doubt it, so I have forsaken the idea, until I have a more confident state of mind. I don't want to fall in the category of the losers.
In conclusion, lets work to be a winner. Strive to compete and complete the goals we set. We may never be first. But the least we can do, is finish.

I really like your concept about winners and losers. It doesn't matter which finish line you are trying to reach, perseverance is the only answer.
