Colors of greens, browns, orange, ocher and
blue. A land of mountains, lava tubes, deserts too. A land as old as time can
be. The Land of Enchantment, it calls to me. Snow and heat. Fast moving
streams. All beckon to me in my dreams.
Bears, hares, mule deer and skunks, are a few
of the creatures that hide in rocks, crevices and tree trunks. There are Big
Horn and Prong Horn, Diamondbacks and rats. This land of enchantment their
habitat.
Black Medic, Black Hay, red and Crimson
Clover too. White Clover, Red Clover, Chicory blue. there is Primrose in pink
and Lady Slippers, Fairy Slippers, Elderberry Blue. Orchids in colors that
will make a sweetheart swoon.
There are Indian Americans, Spanish
Americans, White Americans in different hues. Beautiful Navajo Ladies in
colorful costumes. Beautiful brown babies, so chubby and cute. Some still live
in Hogans, the way the elders used to abide. Some live in cities, wearing suits
and ties.
The Land of Enchantment, is a land filled
with dreams. Dreams of great men; some who turned mean. Some we've called
heroes, we didn't know the whole story. The story of how they cheated and
swindled the Tewa Navahu.
But they became great heroes beginning in “42.”
The wonderful land of sun and stars; open skies and loving hearts. This wonderful place still lives in my mind; I will never forget...Tierra del Encanto.

Oh....Wow......such majestic beauty in your poetic words.....I can see it now again in my minds eye......I went there a couple of times.....I have never forgotten......it was enchanting!
